I want to discuss this in the most formal way possible...
This PlayStation Exclusive content deal is really getting on our nerves, especially the publicity. I think that both sides have valid and reasonable arguments, but I have to say that I lean towards more of the "Xbox" side of this argument, simply because...
If Bungie were to drop Sony and Activision RIGHT NOW, just an hour and a half away from launch, their game would still sell, you would still get all of the content, everyone would still be happy.
Change is a good thing, that is why we have petitions. When you feel that change is unjustified just because some stupid Xbox fanboy was whining, you're forgetting that it's a fanboy, not a fan. Bungie fans will buy Bungie games, even if they don't have a publisher. Bungie fanboys won't.
I've pretty much been a Bungie fan my entire life and I can say that I was raised by the Halo games and I even went back to play the Marathon trilogy and watched every Bungie ViDoc. I'm legit. By denying change, you are isolating yourself and others, causing boredom. If one person had all of the Vanadium in the world, but had no one else to share it with, they would be bored, and so would Vanadium weaponry. Now, a drastic change such as dropping Activision is not what I want, but Sony is a real extreme obstacle in business situations to negotiate with.
When I heard that Sony was deliberately bribing Activision to take down Destiny Xbox advertising, I did s*** my pants. One, when you make a viral advertising campaign on the internet, you follow the FCC's rules, which are verbatim to the United States entities. One of these entities is the US Bill of Rights, written by Thomas Jefferson. One of the first statements in this entity goes like this...
AMENDMENTS
1ST Amendment
-Freedom of Speech
-Freedom of Press
-Freedom of Religion
-Freedom of Expression
See what I mean? Bribing someone to restrict their freedom of speech and press, and what is it called? ILLEGAL.
This is an "inb4" statement. "Other companies do it all the time, Xbox does it with Call of Duty"
So by saying that you find other companies who do this practice as your role models, do you officially endorse illegal business in capitalism?
That's what I thought. Statements about Call of Duty are always brought up and the first thought in my mind is immature. "Well I don't want Call of Duty! I want f***ing Destiny god dammit!", but that would be a childish and fanboy thing to say. Instead, I'll just have to give you that one. Or... Nope. I got nothing; It's Call of Duty.
So in conclusion, I wish there was some other human being that wouldn't b**** as bad if not worse than OP that could shed thier insight on this topic, it's very controversial, it's very deep, and since the bribery, it just got personal.
