Went 5 years without seeing him or speaking to him between the ages 13-18. Been seeing him for 5 months now a handful of times, it's still a bit awkward. Recently learnt my grandma, his mum, has terminal lung cancer. I kept in contact with her even though I didn't see him, my Dad hasn't seen her in 4 years after a big argument. Now he's feeling a ton of regret since she only has a few months to live, he's seeing her tomorrow for the first time. Family's are -blam!-ing complicated.
