Super powers. A gift or a burden?
Seriously imagine being Batman or Superman or any other homosexual superhero. While you're not obliged to do it, as a superhero you would have to save and help people. I know I would, I wouldn't be able to stand back and allow shit to happen if I could help.

Depends on your powers and who your villains are. If I get superman powers and only went up against shocker tier enemies I'd say a gift. If I had spidey powers and went up against Hulk strength enemies or stronger it'd be a burden cause you'd put in the hospital on the reg.

I would see it as a gift for personal use. Not saying I wouldn't help people, but I would not be actively trying to do so.

A gift. You then have the responsibility and duty to use your powers for good and to help people or the human race as a whole. This doesn't necessarily mean saving every eejit you come across, but if I was Superman... I'd remake this world Death Note style.

It would be really rough, like being an upstanding guy and a politician at the same time; no matter how hard you try or succeed, you'd be demonized for everything. There'd always be somebody who thinks you're abusing your powers or not doing enough or doing the right thing the wrote way. Depending on the nature of your power(s), people might react violently to your actions, or your existence generally. So like normal life but worse.

I have had this discussion... If I had superpowers I would struggle to be a hero... I would be more tempted to be a villain
