New hypothesis on the start of the beta: since 7 is their first lucky number and 12 is the second, the beta will start on July 12th (for the PS3&4 at least).
Again a hypothesis, just an idea I had. But am I close?

My only argument with the hypothesis is that the release of the beta codes said spring 2014, on the bungie post it says early 2014. This leaves me to believe that it will be between February and April. Once you hit May to August its mid 2014 and then November hits and the game releases so I'd say in a month or two it will release. Also ask your GameStop employees they usually have a good guesstamation

But when they announced the release date of the game, they also said that the beta will be in the summer. Which in turn voids the "early spring" advertisement.

It's "Summer" now. They just keep pushing it back. They aren't contradicting themselves. They're just pushing back the actual date. We know the Beta will come out in the Summer now, not Spring. We just don't know when.
