Scenario: Everyone in the world is now very good/moral/ethical.

Capitalism is the best choice

Communism is the best choice

So the whole world is now good. Immorality is virtually unknown and every reason why people can't have nice things is gone. All the governments in the world must now decide what is best for the people. Should we have a capitalist society? The rich CEOs will not be greedy and will have the good of society/environment in mind when making business decisions. Or should we have a communist society? The people work for the good of the people as opposed the good of themselves as individuals. EDIT: All of you that thinks morality is subject can go -blam!- yourselves. Please become a divine command theorist/moral realist/etc. for the sake of this thread. Inb4FalseDichotomy Inb4MisconceptionsAboutCommunism/Capitalism

Even if that was the case, in having the government decide who gets what it means that individuals can't decide. The government will give to some at the expense of others. You are assuming of course that the government can predict exactly what will happen and that all affected individuals will be better off. You seem to be taking a lot for granted. Not to mention that, as already mentioned, morality is subjective. The economy requires no central direction. For it will direct itself through voluntary exchange with information derived from the price system.
