Ironically, Christmas isn't even Jesus date of birth, it's just the day Christians chose to celebrate his birth. Why? Because the Winter Solstice was to big of a deal to non Christians. They were literally trying to steal their thunder. And just like a lot of out holidays, the pagan parts sorta just caught a ride. (I.E. the whole tree thing.) Also, if you ever hear anyone talking about Halloween as the devils day, please slap them, and then thoroughly explain to them that it's seeded in the idea that people would dress up to hide from monsters, and leave gifts of sweets to keep them at bay.
