Melbourne is small, the public transport blows and it's and hipster central. I have no idea how it came to be the most liveable city in the world, I'm just there for uni. Like Batchnator said, if employment isn't the main reason why you want to emigrate, move to a nice Victorian coastal town like Lorne (^) or Torquay, much lower costs of living and beautiful scenery living smack on the Great ocean drive.
