Really, it's always the pot calling the kettle black. On one side, liberals want gun control because nothing should be completely infinity percent unregulated, and they get lambasted by conservatives who claim libs want to abolish the Second Amendment. And on the other side, conservatives gladly deny LGBT persons various rights and protections under the law, despite the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. And every president has detractors who oppose literally everything the president says or does--even if it's something they would otherwise agree with--solely because of that president's political allegiance. So everyone should just shut the -blam!- up and stop the playground antics and debate issues like the decent citizens they're supposed to be.
