I'm not disagreeing with you, but I think that's a bad way to look at it. The situation is more like an open house. You're invited in, you can look at the house, but you can't take anything(let's ignore that it's technically theft and thus illegal) for yourself. You're free to have an opinion about the house, but instead of saying "this house is complete shit, I would never take it", you would say something more along the lines of "it's not quite what we're looking for".
