So i was thinking about what to name my character even though I go with the same name usually. While thinking I remembered a conversation with a friend about names. Basically it goes along the lines of the name you were given at birth doesn't really define you as a person, but names you earn or are given later often times have a grain of truth. I thought it would be cool if, in Destiny, you could earn "Legend Names" by either your achievements in the game and/or your extended interactions with other players. This works great with their slogan of "Become legend" because what better way to "Become legend" than to earn your own, possibly, unique "Legend" name? If other players started seeing you as a ruthless player you might earn the "Cut Throat" by either a vote/recommendation of other players or maybe, rarely, a Divine Intervention (a member of Bungie giving you the name). I also thought that maybe you could have the "Legend Name" displayed with or even in place of any other names. Also all the names you have earned can be listed on your profile. At the same time though, you might earn a name you don't want but still deserve. Someone who runs for combat with out telling his party and abandons them could earn the name "Coward" or "The Coward". Now this part would be less likely to be implemented because of risk of bullying. TLDR - "Legend Names" given by players, or Bungie, for achievements and/or actions and play style
