The Middle East has been an area of instability for hundreds of years. I mean, I think it was just Saddam and some guy in the 1300's that were the only two in recorded history to keep Iraq with a stable government. Yet here we go in Aladdin, some middle eastern nation. Some speculate it's based on Saudi Arabia, others Iraq... meh. The point is the area is unstable and has been as long as history can remember, more or less. And in the above video, Aladdin bursts into the capital unannounced with an army, elephants, gold, animals, servants, you name it. And yet... nobody is concerned. The nation rejoices. My question, Bungie.net, is this: Why did nobody have fear over this happening? A foreign prince comes in with an army and quiet literally bashes open the door of the palace with an elephant. Nobody finds this suspicious? My friends told me the other day that I am probably the only one to have such dark thoughts about what appears to be, on the surface, an innocent children's movie. But I know you, internet. Surely some of you can see why I question this. Is it possible Aladdin was just a foreign assassin all along? He posed as a street rat because he could scout the city without anybody noticing him as anything other than a bum- one of hundreds of nameless faces. Only later did he seek power for himself in the form of marrying a beautiful woman after coming upon magic allowing him to do so. He also eliminated his then-only threat to the throne. He could have killed the Sultan after he burst down the door with his army. He opted for power, instead. When did Aladdin become so power hungry?
