Democrats should call the Republican bluff
Republicans threaten to use the filibuster to block stuff in the Senate. I'd like to see their bluff called. See how long they are willing to drag something out before they start damaging themselves in the process. Even if it took months, and months, and months...

2 RisposteThey'd drag it out to the end of time. As time goes by, popular support for these kinds of things dwindles. Gun control is a core Republican issue, and support for it has dipped below 50% now. Fiscal policy is one of the only popular things the party has right now, so they won't compromise much there.
