I'm so glad...
...that video gaming is deciding to grow up and finally start being inclusive to female and/or gay characters and leads and entertain serious stories and drama instead of the usual male and testosterone dominated arcade gameplay with the barest and flimsiest of stories to cover them.

You can't make money making games not focused at your largest demographic. Males 13-65 are the core market for video games. Sure others play them, but not of the same percentages by any stretch. So expecting game companies to focus on games for solely for other pockets of the gaming populace just is not wise marketing.

FemShep and that chick from Mirror's Edge (I never played it, hence my ignorance) would like a word with you. It's also worth noting that the latest iteration of Lara Croft isn't a pair of tits and legs carrying guns anymore, so that's a (small) step up.
