I'm extremely apprehensive about this game. There's enough lore-breaking content in the first trailer that it's clear they aren't trying to do much with the story, and they've said they intend to make the game less cinematic. On the multiplayer side, they're taking out a lot of what made Gears unique, which just sounds like the usual dumbass corporate decision to go after a demographic that won't play the game anyway. Combined with the fact that Cliffy B has left Epic (and Gears was his baby), I personally will not be buying Judgment unless I hear some pretty high praise for the story. About the only thing left to stamp out concretely is the origin of the humanoid locust, and it would take some pretty involved storytelling techniques to accomplish this in a prequel without invalidating all the other games. However, to me it seems like they're just trying to sell us Gears 3 again, minus the story.
