Brief announcement: As I'm sure none of you realized, I hadn't been updating anything over the past week. This is due to an epic battle I had with the sheer negative forces of my arch nemesis: Olmarik. A trojan, Olmarik decided to assault my poor defenseless computer. NOD32 informed me of this unwanted assault, but was unable to fight the malicious software. Thus, I called upon the internet to help me! I threw everything I could find at it! Everything but the kitchen sink, that is, but nothing would end this travesty! Olmarik had been on my computer once before, but I had gotten rid of it with some extra software from ESET. However, this time, Olmarik got its claws in deeper into my boot memory! It did not wish to relent! Well, this would not stand, I decided. I backed up all of my important files and archives, put my computer to its factory defaults, and formatted my hard drive! Olmarik was powerful, but it could not stop the power of factory reset! Thus, the reset rolled over my system and cleaned it spotless. Now, I have my computer up and running, and am actively cleaning the system as well as restoring all of my backups and archives. Already my computer is almost to where it was last time! I actually look upon this event with a positive outlook. It got me to finally clean up and organize my hard drive a bit! Files had gotten pretty scattered lately. The moral of this story: I'm back and updating this thread again, and posting on The Flood regularly again.
