Just in case there’s something you’re missing: Once you fully charge the Shadow Energy meter and it switches over to the [b]Shadow Novice[/b] buff (which includes a countdown timer showing when it expires), you will need to goad one of the shielded enemies into using their dark explosion attack by hanging out near them. You can only drop one of these enemy’s shields using the alternate dark Grenade [i]while it is in the process of charging the dark explosion attack[/i]; using the Grenade before it goes into the charging animation or after it has have detonated will have zero effect. Hitting the enemy with the alternate Grenade while it is locked into the charging animation will flinch it, knocking it out of the animation and dropping its shield, allowing you to damage it as normal. Be mindful of where you are standing when you kill these shielded enemies as Walkers will drop in at [i]specific points[/i] around the Arena once you reach certain milestones (after killing one shielded enemy, then another two, then another three); being caught underneath will instantly kill you. Luckily the Walkers drop in at the same spots each time, so they are easy to avoid once you become familiar with the drop locations and cadence. (΄◉◞౪◟◉｀)
