I am curious how people are doing with contest mode on equilibrium on console.
My team are fairly experienced, but we have a pretty hard time reaching the damage thresholds on Harrow. We have tried an excessive amount of different builds, team combinations and strategies which none seem to work.
Looking at the videos from the PC teams that have completed successfully, we have comparable strategies, comparable execution, and in many cases as good, or at least on paper better builds.
Yet, we just can't get the damage in. Not enough at least.
Extending damage phase, not enough, completely maximized damage builds, not enough. Even cheesing it with void stacked, not enough.
The boss is also quite laggy and jumpy, which may be a network issue, we are pretty spread out. Or is he supposed to behave that way?
So I'm curious how many console teams have succeeded so far, compared to PC teams. I have pretty much accepted that PC is baseline for all balancing now, but it would be fun if it was possible on console as well.
And if you plan on replying "git good", save yourself the effort. You are wasting everyone's time, and your toxicity doesn't make you look good.

3 RisposteThere’s actually a fix for that, it’s called well + sanguine alchemy lol I get it’s not that fun to run, but it IS fun to see how you massively out-damage your teammates after the boss. Then you get to gaslight your friends into thinking their build is trash.

15 RisposteI could care less about impossibly difficult content. It's killing the game.

If it’s like Desert Perpetual Contest mode, ill wait for Bungie to sort out the « legitimate » clear first. There’s no reason for build and loadout to behave differently on PC than console. -
I've been scouring the internet and bungie forums for more people with this issue. To be honest all console players are robbed from the contest mode because of a dps bug on Harrow. Me and my team managed to get the mechanics easily got in dmg phase the first time thinking we could do it with praxic blades...off course that failed. We started to look around at other creators for dps strat and saw a team doing it easily with augers.. we tried that and failed...then we saw the wolfsbane strat... failed.. also did the contra lock strat...also failed...for each strat we tried I noticed we were doing around 20k total!? so I went to shooting range and test my own dmg out on carl I was able to do 30 k by myself and even more with contraverse build on a 15 sec rotation ( i think thats how long you can dmg harrow +/-) then went in again did everything right just to see us doing 20k total again!! So i think it's fair to say that console players got screwed here

2 RisposteOn Console it's impossible to do enough damage to beat 2nd encounter..we did every load out possible... something is bugged they need to fix it give console another chance ..this is BS..spent 5hrs doing everything..every combination...

3 RisposteBro… Just git gud! In all seriousness, my group gave up. We were able to get Harrow to final phase multiple times but we don’t have anything to finishing killing him. We’ve tried multiple times but we are just tired of it. I am a little tired of having to his damage thresholds during contest but overall, I don’t really care about contest. Yes, it’s nice to get the exotic guaranteed but I don’t plan on ever using this one so I’m not too concerned about getting it later.

1 RispondiWith every contest that passes I more firmly believe they don’t play test damage check on console. In theory they can do everything PC can but in practice you lose time and it’s been proven that frame rate is tied into incoming/outgoing damage. I love difficult challenges but I’m not satisfied or even relieved when a contest boss dies. I’m dumbfounded as to why it only worked that time.

5 RisposteOn console we cleared harrow very very quickly just using the axe. Fins boss took 90% of our time in the dungeon. Ended up having to swap out a member cause he didn’t have good enough gear for his warlock from not playing last expansion. A bit of a bummer that a lot of the best strategies for this dungeon were triple warlock again. Really wish the game encourages more one of each class on a team gameplay.

2 RisposteWe beat harrow with bunk hammers, parasites and a well lock using tractor, and a rocket pulse.
