Since very few will actually pay good money for Marathon bungie decided to implement many aspects of it into Destiny All the missions we do for the factions are extraction missions. (They are trying to get players into the Marathon game model) No kill count, no damage totals, no orb creation count as we are accustomed to with Destiny. What is this game anymore? This game has lost its identity and soul.

play hell divers 2

Ah yes, the ole "I don't know what I'm talking about, but this thing is obviously this completely different thing"
-
Destiny 2 has had an identity crisis for a long time, and Bungie also lost its soul in the process. But to my surprise, Arc Raiders is well received by the (Destiny 2) players I know. But the talk about Marathon isn't that well.
-
If it was, the Invader wouldn't dip after only a few kills.
-
Get guns Shoot aliens Ignore the underdeveloped story Nope, this is still the D1 ethos my friend!
-
Feels like im playing "killing floor" lol
-
You haven't played actual extraction shooters, have you? Silly comparison.
-
You strike me as someone who has never played an actual extraction shooter
-
Previously in Destiny every strike had meaning. Every scanning object gave as a little tips what will happen/happend in game. Everything were connected. Now it's just strikes without any connection to main story, it's just patrols with few named enemies without back story. Current development team do mistakes too often. If they don't represent in next big DLC: good, logical, not childish story; get rid of portal; give players ability to be stronger then enemies (we killed gods, how we can be beaten by mere dreg in some activity that fills like a filler); raids should be highest in difficulty chart (don't make them harder, leave normal and hard mode for raids, everything else should be easier then raid!). If Bungie don't do at least those. I won't touch anything that members of current Destiny development team will do even with 20ft stick.

So happy I'm only playing the free parts. No inclination to go further on a game that has sunk to such depths. To the people having fun in the game, I'm happy for ya'll. You do you.

1 RispondiFrom the first moment they showed gameplay of Renegades I immediately shouted "Helldivers!" Which is a form of extraction shooter. They are just priming players to move over to Marathon at this point. All while under the mask of Star Wars.
-
1 RispondiI’m gonna buy the digital deluxe edition of marathon (: this new game mode for renegades is a fun and interesting new activity. I think the game could use more new ideas coming to it like this.
-
2 RisposteHehe see you in marathon
-
2 RispostePersonally, I don’t think I’d ever purchase another Bungie Product.
-
6 Risposteit's called direction control; they add aspects of a new game that will come out soon to an old game that is relevant to get people to play the new game and soon they shut down the old game and when marathon gets old, they do it again.
-
4 RisposteMarathon's intended audience didn't give a crap about it, so now they're trying to get D2 players -who were never the target audience for Marathon to begin with- to become interested in it.
-
2 RisposteIt’s a fun mode with the tiniest semblance of stakes if you lose all your revives. Calm down. The community complains when they do the same content over and over and apparently they complain when bungie tries something new
-
5 RisposteAre you struggling to extract??
-
15 RisposteI was VERY disappointed to see that there were NO open areas to explore. They built an expansion inspired by Star Wars, and we don’t even get a new location to go to??? And the fact that this was NOT marketed is practically criminal and false advertisement. They told us we’d be returning to Mars and showing gameplay, but I guess they forgot to leave out that these are actually just tiny spaces inside missions.
-
Destiny 2 just sucks now.
-
4 RisposteThis new mode is just gambit
-
11 Rispostejfc knock off the drug-induced psychosis conspiracy delusions. Its a one time experimental game mode like Nether and The Coil, with absolutely 0 allusions to Marathon.
-
2 RisposteWhatever the case, its better than a lot of what seasons in the past have had. Smuggle can eat a d+ck, but the rest are pretty good. The Renegade abilities give it a big leg up for sure. They know Destiny players arent their audience for Marathon so I wouldn't get wound up about a single similarity. If they are smart, they'd know that even Bungie fans arent their audience at this point.
-
Nah. It's great and a change to the usual champion stuff. I like it. And Venus is awesome.
-
well you don't lose your gear and you need to be a complete displaced in this game to fail any of these missions. Even if you would fail to exfiltrate you'd still get loot in the end. Extraction Shooters are thrilling because you can lose your hard earned gear and you are typically low on materials to get them back in an instant. That being said, i totally agree that Destiny has lost it's soul. The Renegade campaign was fun and nostalgic but as soon as you tap into anything else, it's pure garbage. Back to Arc Raiders
