The Cosmodrome in Destiny 2 presents several inconsistencies that compromise both its design and its narrative coherence. One of the clearest examples is the Breach, which appears fully intact in the current version of the game, despite the fact that in the Rise of Iron expansion of Destiny 1 it had been visibly cut open by the Fallen. This omission undermines the continuity of the story and gives the impression that important past events were simply erased. Another notable problem is found in the Reclaim activity, where the “Out of Bounds” area shows snow along the border, even though the Destiny 2 version of the Cosmodrome does not feature snow in its environment. In addition, there is the matter of SIVA and the Plaguelands: while Destiny 2 seems to disregard the existence of SIVA in its broader storyline, the Reclaim activity contradicts this by presenting the Plaguelands with traces of inert SIVA. Beyond these narrative issues, the Cosmodrome also suffers from technical shortcomings, particularly in the Plaguelands, where texture problems are evident and feel unfinished. This not only diminishes the quality of the environment but also disrupts player immersion, making the location feel disconnected and less believable. For many players, the Cosmodrome is more than just a playable space—it represents an iconic setting from Destiny 1 that carries strong nostalgic value. Because of this, expectations were high for its return in Destiny 2, and the community anticipated a faithful and polished recreation. However, the inconsistencies and lack of attention to detail end up weakening the legacy of this important location and leave the impression that it was brought back without the care it deserves.
