Upgrade modules > Unstable cores

Just revert to the old system. The fact you added a currency to a system that worked was the biggest waste of time for this DLC system change. The effect with unstable cores leaving each season could be done just by resetting us like you just did with the DLC. You literally can’t even use Upgrade modules anymore. It’s just an Enhancement core instead now. Hate this system as it’s just over inflated to keep players grinding in the mines. Let me play how I want to play without needing a billion cores.

  • Once you get around 400, unstable core economy is a serious problem. Spending 7500 cores to infuse ONE piece of gear is unreal. Upgrade modules were way better! I blew through 50k unstable cores in seconds just updating lower level gear. WTF Bungie? Either provide a way to farm cores (other than dismantling gear), or reduce the infusion costs. If you cut down the infusion cost by 90%, that would be perfect. Not a problem when a person is low power level, but once around 400 it’s at the point one can’t even level up second or third characters. Forget about infusing 10 or 200 gear to 400! 🤯

Everyone has thousands of Enhancement Cores that were of little use but that was far too easy so Bungie changed the colour of the currency, devalued and renamed it then tucked it up nice and tidy next to Glimmer. I have 10 stacks of 999 enhancement cores sitting in consumables only getting pecked at when I masterwork something. Is the person that thought up Unstable Cores also responsible for Grapple Grenade modifier? Hmmmmmm.

    • It was pointless except to force players to play more. I'm not. It's as simple as that.

      • I've not once run out of unstable cores and have like 16k stacked up and my playtime is not remotely high. Compared to how often I had to buy upgrade modules? HARD pass on going back to that.

        • Both have their limitations. The problem with existing setup is having enough material to upgrade. In the past leveling is quick so you are not starved for upgrade modules. Now you are forever upgrading making deletions of higher light rolls a difficult choice. On a positive note you are not always visiting our local gunsmith. Also limitations can be managed by Bungie fixing update costs and material drop rates.

          • I got a tier 5 weapon from the mythic story mission, but dropped at 300… to use it for anything i need to infuse something nearer to 400… over 6000 unstable cores! That seems a bit out of whack, compared to upgrade modules. Otherwise if it stayed at a steady cost, say 500 or even 750, i prefer the unstable cores route. But trying to infuse lower power stuff up to your current level is ridiculously over priced.

          • The whole game is designed around the grind at this point. They want you grinding it out for exactly what you want. They also want you to be discouraged from grabbing things from your vault and bringing them up to power. You really think they care you have to grind when they built the hamster wheel with exactly those intentions? They don’t care. Whining isn’t going to change it

            • Hard disagree. You can hold hundreds of thousands of cores, and only 24 modules. You also get big chunks of cores by just dismantling stuff. Cores are infinitely better, and as long as you're actually playing the game and not infusing everything you own 10 times a day, you should never be running out.

              • I prefer unstable cores tough. I never have to look at those. While the previous system was a pain, because of the 25 limit on upgrade modules. If im in a hurry to get unstable cores i can just delete some armors even from postmaster etc... And you alsi have plenth of unstable cores, i am infusing non stop and im sitting around 400k of those rn. Cant imagine how it will be when i reach 450 and calm down on infusing gear x)
