Ever since eof released the game has had several performance issues. Prior to the expansion I ran the game at 200+ fps on max settings; I struggle to get above 100 on low settings now. It most certainly isn’t a hardware issue as I’ve seen several others with the same issue; not to mention I have a $3500 setup running a 3090ti & an i7-12700k. I believe it has to do with the removal of dedicated fullscreen mode; which has also ruined my previous hdr settings, making the game appear washed out and dull.
This is a huge slap in the face to players who have purchased this expansion at a premium price and can’t even manage to enjoy it.

Yeah, the culprit is the removal of dedicated fullscreen. I believe that they did not test this thoroughly. High-end setups are seeing ridiculous numbers, while low to mid setups are literally unplayable. I was playing with 60 fps on this older laptop, which was acceptable for me in my current situation. But now, regardless of the setting, I am barely reaching 30. It's weird that the highest settings with a high resolution and the lowest settings with 720p resolution result in the same fps. I tried everything that I could from my end, but it is obvious that something is broken on the game's side. I will not be trying to play the game with 20-something fps, getting myself crazy in the process, and I am barely holding myself from refunding out of respect for all those years in Destiny that I hold dearly. We stuck through the highs and lows of the game, but for me, this is unacceptable. If the game is going to be more demanding from now on, that's fine, but say so in your system requirements so we won't buy it for our current rigs. It is a legit copy-paste of the Final Shape requirements.
