Any Possible Soloution To Counter Cheating in Comp / PVP
im pretty sure when new season dropped , they mentioned in twab that accounts that are getting umbral echelon ( aka ascendant 0 emblem ) will be heavily monitored, meanwhile i see new accounts with less than 10 hours in game flying around, getting paid to carry other people having 100% accuracy on every snipe and slug shots and still not getting banned
my suggestions for this:
1 - make a delay for rankups weekly , if you rankup from plat to adept, you have to wait for weekly reset to play adept rank, same way from adept to ascendant, that way people dont just create a new account and destroy everyone matches in less than 2 hours
2 - when cheaters get banned, refund all the points that people lost playing against them, and also remove points from all fireteam members that have been carried by them and send them a warning message in game
so far i think these two are effective ones, beside updating anti cheat or finding new ways to counter it , but its just frustrating, i wait 20 minute everytime i want to play a comp match knowing there is no people playing it, and when i find a match its 45% chance they are cheating

Here's how you completely eliminate cheating in PvP, but no one will like it: Take it offline and make it so you can only play local on a split-screen. Never had issue one with cheaters when playing 'Goldeneye 64.' But so long as it's an online game there will always, one more time for emphasis, [b]ALWAYS[/b] be cheaters.

1st point would be universally hated.

Delaying rank ups for a week punishes everybody that just wants to play Comp whether they are cheating or not. That’s not a fix that will just put people off from playing that game mode.

As for input converter hardware & input converter emulators. Bungie has done nothing. With entire clans devoted to their use now. Bungie needs to do more then acknowledge these devices are cheating. Sure its great they finally put their finger on the scale declaring input converters to be cheating, which should have never been the battle it was in the first place. But now we won the war its time to start banning these these bad actors.

For your point one......i think this is a bad idea. it would further reduce the player population. As a person who use to go ascendent every season....i see zero reason anymore and just do my 3 matches and leave. As for point 2.....with the current meta, people would get boosted quickly. not against it but it would have to be balanced in a way. As for 3rd party devices its starting to get harder to tell between a high sens roller and a MnK ximmer. THe recitle friction is a little to strong IMO on PC and should be reduced. And the flinch amount between inputs isn't balanced. Bungie nuked Snipers on MnK but they are still very usable on a controller.

IMHO: the scariest thing about Comp is how one can lose points so quickly due to elements beyond one’s control, eg, quitters / AFKers / griefers - which seems to be on the rise / SUS players - way too many, way too often… 🧐 As for actual genuine ‘Cheaters’ - like the gunship or giant dudes seen in recent videos, I’ve never experienced such. Caveat: this 0.3% old tortoise only plays the 3x weekly matches to try get the available toy that I’m chasing, eg, riposte - PvE g-roll, which finally dropped after a very long chase. Now, I have no reason to enter Comp…so, I don’t. 🫤 FWIW: I’ve advocated to change the points system in Comp - many times, eg, W=50 pts / D=25pts / L=15pts…Quitters and Griefers and AFKers who deliberately sabotage a team cause No Penalty points loss to the players that fought on! Those bad actors get flagged and temporarily suspended or for repeat violations - a seasonal ban…and if that doesn’t cure them - a permanent ban. ❌❌❌ That is all. Ease Springs! 🫡

1 Risponditheres no counter you just have to play through the losses although i will say i feel like you exaggerating your experiences of cheaters somewhat, this is anecdotal but in my grind to 15000 i only played against a handful (pc, and this was in early april around when it came out and a lot of people were grinding for it). most games were legit, had much more of a grievance with playing against 3 stacks and not getting loss protection or just getting absurd team balancing experiences

Punish people who pay these schmucks with an IP ban. There wouldn't be cheaters if people stopped buying them dlcs to enter trials again. And indirectly if they got caught in comp they will be banned on IP basis as well.

1 RispondiModificato da Cheat: 6/10/2025 2:43:02 PMI recently swapped from Xbox to PC (and had to learn mouse and keyboard) and when clanmates complained about hackers I told them I didn't really experience ANY of that. But I got the emblem on Xbox and they were in PC player pool. If you can game on controller (and have a console) and want the emblem: try console. There are still REALLY good players there, but I legitimately never ran into any cheaters / hacking shenanigans. I'll probably never play Crucible on PC now if I'm being honest.
