The current iteration of competitive feels bad to engage with as you don't know where you get points from and where you don't. Many other competitive FPS games on the market break down where and why you get points from it's competitive structure. Destiny 2 never explains why some players on a team get more or less per win or loss and it's extremely frustrating to engage with.
