Hey there. The expected sequence is to interact with the pickup in the Battleground, then speak to Failsafe to be given the NES006 quest. So a bit confused here, If you had the quest, what was it asking you to do exactly? Once the actual quest is picked up, step 1 is for doing damage with certain weapons, step 2 for using certain elements, and 3 is for creating orbs. So Battleground: Delve is not an actual step within NES006, just a (potential) prerequisite. Could you maybe try Battleground: Core, and see if you can pick up the specimen here, tucked against the 'glass' on the opposite side of the room from where the rally flag goes, before the boss.
