Your cross-save is setup with Steam set as your active profile/characters, rather than either your PS or Xbox ones.
To fix it, you'll need to deactivate cross-save -> wait 90 days -> reactivate it and select the correct platform as your active characters. If you've purchased silver in the past 90 days you will need to wait out that cooldown first before you can deactivate.

It didnt even give me the option to choose at first. There is no way to fix it without waiting to access my gear?

Unfortunately no, if you deactivate it all profiles go back to their own characters etc so you'll only be able to use your characters and gear on their own platform
