I would assume that the craftable weapons tied to activities, if the activities go away, the craftable weapons will either just go into the world loot pool or dares. Dares already seems like a catch all place for gear as it is.

To put it nicely, your friends are misinformed. Nothing even close to that has been announced. Keep an eye on the TWaBs, if there was a big change like that, they would announce it there.

Has anyone given you an actual source for this info? One of the few things Bungie has stated was in a [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/51865]TWAB[/url] a while back where they said that weapons that [b]cannot[/b] be crafted will no longer drop with Deepsight Resonance, but they said nothing about craftable weapons. I also vaguely remember a comment on Twitter or Reddit about how they're working on how players can unlock patterns for seasonal weapons, but that was only about weapons that are going to lose their source come Lightfall.
