Thank God it's not and the lore behind it is actually really elaborate and embodies what darkness or rather, the Witnesses tweaks to it, are about which is reduction and domination. Strand is the manipulation of the casual interactions of matter, energy, and life, paracausally disrupting their states and function within reality. Where Stasis would simplify and sequence matter and energy into perfect crystals and messing with the entropy of them, Strand unravels and tightens the bonds of atoms and molecules. Both are related to the idea of the shape of something which is really cool. I think they knocked it outta the park following the rules of what Darkness is.
