Ok, so I've been playing D2 for the last 2 years, and never really had an issue. I updated my rig in March, but I've only started having issues in the last 2 weeks. A couple weeks ago, I started getting non-stop screen tearing. Since 2 days ago, the game started taking up almost all of my computer's resources. It went from <9% CPU usage, <12% RAM usage and <10% VRAM usage. Since 2 days ago, CPU usage shoots straight up to 90%, RAM usage at 88% and VRAM usage at 98%. All my drivers are up do date, and no settings have changed. Why is the game suddenly taking up so many resources? Specs: i9-12900k, 64GB 3200mhz DDR4, RTX 3090 FTW3 ULTRA.
