I had done all encounters during contest mode during the extension. If you check on raid report at https://raid.report/xb/4611686018450883152 you can see that I was in the same group in all of the first five dots. This is the same across all of the rest of the members of the fireteam and all of them have received the emblem. They were also not in any other attempts across the two days that contest mode was on.
