....Look at kujay's post. Frees up weapon memory. Most likely a way to make weapon crafting possible or add more perks. They are playing 3d chess not checkers. Usually they do things for a reason we don't always understand right away.

Well, it will only apply to new weapons and reissued guns later released making all the legendary guns we currently have masterworked pointless (tiny stat boost is hardly noticeable) and contradicts the TWAB as all the masterwork materials we have used for the past couple of years has gone to waste. This is a poor decision and a nerf overall
