Bungie, we can change the element of our armor, let us change the element of our weapons too
We previously were able to do this in D2 Y1, but the mods were deprecated. I'm sure a better system can be implemented, but the point stands - please introduce a system that allows players to change the element of their weapons.

When designing endgame content, like Lost Sectors and Nightfalls with Match Game, Bungie knows exactly which weapon archetypes are in the loot pool for each element, what perks they can roll with, and which artifact mods will be available for a given season. One of the goals with sunsetting was to curate the loot pool so that encounters could be balanced without weapons like Mountaintop making the experience feel trivial but a slog for anyone who didn't have them.
