Diamond Lance Despawning
Whenever you meet the requirements for spawning a diamond lance, (from what I have noticed mainly in PvP), if the lance spawns near a corner or uneven flooring, the lance will despair immediately but you will still receive the cool down penalty (which can be 16 seconds in PvP!).
