What is nostalgia to you
Alot of people say it’s some kind of sadness
I feel happy when I’m nostalgic and sad at the same time because it’s a good memory that I can never experience again kinda like watching a movie you will never experience that movie like the first time you watched it
I’m just sitting here very nostalgic recently I had a few tears ngl [spoiler]twirls stache [/spoiler]

It’s an empty feeling. Like I had something in the times I’m remembering and I don’t have it now.

9 times out of 10 nostalgia just reminds me of when things were better, or at the very least simpler.

It varies. Sometimes, it's about something I had and lost and wish I could regain. Other times, it's about something i enjoyed, but can leave in the past happy that it was a part of my life. When you reach my age, there's a lot of nostalgia...

For me its looking at growing up and looking back to a time when CD players and boom box radios were cool, and MP3's were that new weird stuff. AOL coming on with that old dial up internet, phone calls preventing the internet from working. My ole town with my favorite New Rock and Metal radio station (which sadly is gone now). Good Times!

Like deja vu but rather then feeling like I've been here before, I feel like I'm back there again.

Remembering the days before I had to go to school. Good times those were...biggest concern was how much damage I’d be able to do to my sandbox, myself, and preferably both, in a day. [spoiler]Sorry, all out of salt.[/spoiler]

For me it's good times from my past that I wish I had appreciated more at the time. They're memories almost like an old movie, vignettes from my life. Sometimes there is regret associated with them and the usual thing where, if you knew then what you know now, things would have gone better.

I tend to look at the best memories. Listening to halo 3's soundtrack makes me cry because of the fun times I spent playing with my little brother. Did I also mention I was a clan kid at one point in reach? We stopped a few days in because both me and my brother got sick of the strict looks we could use. We were only allowed to have a specific spartan ID, emblem, and maroon default armor. No personalization, no freedom.

Some old songs from around 2010 remind me of playing Pocket Edition Minecraft Songs from 2016 remind me of middle school and rides home from school Old cartoons from early 2000s remind me of when I had cable Uh, other stuff I'm sure.

Nostalgia is generally a happy thing for me. I can see how it might be sad for some folk, if you want to go back to the past, but I’m mosty pretty happy with my life here in the present. So for me, it’s just an “Oh, I remember this!”.

Enjoying and appreciating the times, shows, games, friendships and activities I had years ago let’s me feel happy about it, but at the same time sad because those are times long past and unlikely to ever return. The dangerous thing about nostalgia is that it can hurt severely if it gets you at a low point in life, where it’s most likely to appear anyway. A year ago, when things weren’t going particularly well in my life, I thought about how good I had it when I was younger, began to think about times with friends who have either passed away or I drifted from and it spiralled me even worse than I already was. Now that things are good again, I can view it with positivity but there’s always the sour note at the end when you realise you can’t go back to things and emotions that have already happened. Yet there’s still time in your life to go and make new memories and experience new things so at the end of the day, you are your own worst enemy.
