Why people are afk farming
It is by far the most efficient strategy to level your character. If the game had a more efficient leveling system built into it's more legitimate systems we would be utilizing that. Many other games have leveling systems that put you close to end game levels at the end of story content. So you don't have to work as hard. This game makes you play hours upon hours, days upon weeks even, to get to end game levels. And it makes you play content we've already been playing up to this point.
TLDR: If you Make a better leveling experience, you will get more players who want to engage with it And not *want* to find the exploits.

if there is a way to get loot easier than normal. regardless if its a looter shooter or not, people are gonna do it. and lets be honest. this season is like the last one. its filler content till the new dlc. nobody cares about fixing it since its getting sunset anyways so why bother lol.

36 RisposteIt's a slap in the face for people who want to lay the game as intended. They should all get their progress and gear that was earned this way removed. But Bungie is too scared of their player base.

4 RisposteThe resource drop rate you need to focus the engrams is abysmal unless you run bounties on all 3 characters, twisted energy is non-existent to "extend" the grind, and the umbral Engram drop rng is iffy at best. The community has spoken up to Bungie on dozens of occasions that this type of economy is Garbo, yet they keep doing it. Plus the afk forge farm (any farm that don't offer guaranteed drops in general) isn't even that good unless your RNG is on point.

2 RisposteYou do know the recaster at gambit is broken right now if you focus only armour umbral engrams the decode 4-5 light levels higher each time and taniks nightmare hunt on adept drops either 50 twisted elements or an umbral which also drop from killing nightmare dregs and shanks and only takes 5 minutes a run. Weapons are decoding as normal but armour you can build light level fast.

6 RisposteI know why they do. Nobody, who's played this game for any length of time, wants to spend hours/days grinding the same old crap for the same old light leveling nonsense. So, players are desperate to get past that.

7 RisposteI love this forum! The amount of toxicity that was posted about the last season, and so great hope and anticipation about the new one was something to look forward to. Last season was boring, nothing to grind for, too much grinding, no exciting new content, too many repetitive bounties etc....., the list of complaints was endless. New season.....right....I know, I'l drop my light level, go into a forge afk, and go to work, or go to bed, or order a takeaway and pig out in front of the tv. 3 days later.....Yay, almost max level...I can now do some pinnacle stuff and maybe some trials. 2 weeks later.....This season sucks, nothing to do....I quit this game....etc. I bought this season, as I have every season since D1 launch, to actually PLAY it, and I think that the fundamental idea of this game has been totally eroded by the changes that Bungie has made in order to try to please everyone and their dog in this once great game. D1 was a hell of a grind and I loved it, putting in hundreds of hours to complete everything possible on all 3 characters. Those days are gone and it's come to the stage where people moan about a game, and even when new stuff is added, they can't even be bothered to play it properly. Just like modern life, people want everything for nothing, everything asap but don't want to work to earn it, and I bet the majority of these slackers will be the first to vent their anger in here in a few weeks time. I am actually enjoying this new season, apart from the total -blam!--up regarding the sprint mechanics which hopefully will be fixed soon.

3 Rispostethe other night I reported 6 AFKs trying to do one single forge that I need it. I think I finally play it til the end after like 6 or 7 tries, thanks to the AFKs.

Oh and can I say, this AFK farming is upping those play time hours. This could be one of the reasons they haven't patched it so quickly. Hummmm?

2 RisposteLeveling is just enough of an obstacle that people do not want to play this game anymore. The game has become that boring... Bungie is allowing this because it's the only way they can hold onto a good chunk of the player base. Sure they will fix it but not until everyone has had enough time to rank up.

PEOPLE WHO WANT TO AFK FARM OR ARE DOING IT. Drop your light level to way below 750... That way you will match with other afk players and WILL NOT effect active forge runners. This will ensure people can play the forges normally whilst you can farm in peace. DO NOT load into it at over 750 or at your highest light level that's over 1000+ because you are actually -blam!-ing over active runners. I'm literally doing it for the first time and I dropped my light level to 391... So I literally can't get in with active players. If you want to AFK farm... Do the right thing and drop below 750 otherwise you are actually being a asshole. To the people who are mad at afk farmers... Nobody cares at this point. If you are actively running forges and get put with one above 1000? Prolong the activity and it'll boot them, throw in a report whilst you are at it. But don't get angry at the people who are doing whatever to avoid active runners.

I even got bored of AFK farming, that’s how pointless this has become. The process of turning in engrams has now become a chore. Another season pass wasted.

I don't care if people want to AFK in PvE activities, I just wish they'd be smart enough to set their power level low and/or change their region to Korea or something so it doesn't impact the rest of us. But then people who don't want to PLAY a GAME aren't known as the smartest people.

Because to legit level means grinding 2 year old content that we are sick of by this point Bungie needs to fix it so we level by doing new stuff,they could have had us grind contact for soft cap drops ,but no they made another unrewarding public event I don’t blame people for Forge Farming, because it’s Bungies fault they made not playing more rewarding than playing -
