Would anyone be interested in a Destiny-inspired Lore Fan Film?
Hey there!
My name's Ben, I'm a Filmmaking student in London and a Day 1 player. I'm a huge fan of the Destiny universe, and recently have been spending my downtime re-reading some of the lore.
I've got a heck of a lot of free time this summer, would anyone with some filmmaking/acting experience be interested in being part of a collab? People with Guardian cosplays welcome too!

Right now I‘m in a conception phase of both writing the movie scripts and making concept drawings for the 8-10 movies I planned. Maybe we could hit our projects together? Edit: I may should also add the information that the current plan for my project is to animate it with Blender. So it is basically an easier „to do“ thing, since Blender got with update 2.8 an update for interface and other stuff which makes it much more accessable. Edit 2: Also, after the 4th movie the story is fan canon since there is not much playroom for ideas within the lore anymore in a bigger scale and since the timeline „got destroyed and fixed“ in SoD, I can make it an „alternate timeline“ in which Saint-14 never got saved and the timeline never got broken.

I would love to see a D2 movie centered around a specific part of the game, kinda like that movie. Maybe focus it around Crucible? Show how every day guardians prepare themselves and better themselves at the crucible. Have Ikora, Shaxx, and other main characters. Maybe even hype crucible to be somewhat of a show or sport for Humans & Exo's to watch at the tower. Sort of a morale boost in all the horrible things that have happened. If not crucible then maybe strikes? Or raids even?

There isnt a single straight white fighting aged male in all of Destiny. So ill give it a hard pass.

I recommend going for something short and sweet if it’s your first one. If you want to make a film based on a specific piece of lore, then find a piece that’s simple, short, and pretty straight forward. Something like a brief film about Shin Malphur. Open it up with a shot of Shin as a kid meeting Jared Ward. Then have some small sequences of Jared mentoring Shin, the destruction of Palamon, Jared being gunned down by Dredgen Yor, all leading up to the duel between Shin and Yor. Or maybe take elements from the lore and make your own thing. Something like a horror based film about survivors out in the wilds fleeing from Fallen in a dark environment. I personally think this might be a good starter if these things are something you’ll want to do. Relatively few people, easy enough outfit design composing of tattered and dirty clothing, and an enemy who is concealed by darkness majority of the time (with maybe a few shots of four glowing eyes peering out from the shadows). Just some ideas, but you do you.

If you were going to approach it half assed then no. Alot will depend on your budget. Fans will work for minimal payment, food, travel ect, however if you're trying to create something more serious, then crew, make up, costume ect, actors and background actors would require payment at equity/pact rates, if you're doing it as part of your course, there's funding available from your college/uni to help with these costs.
