It’s entirely possible to play the game without trying to have your character model occupy the same space as mine. This requires a little situational awareness and acknowledging the fact that other people exist. I know it’s Halloween season and you’d really like for your guardian to take possession of my guardian’s body. Sadly, the developers haven’t coded that feature into the game.
