One of my favorite houses I made was the first one I ever made, a simple birch log square in a desert that was only a few blocks high and mostly underground, with windows in the above ground part and a glass ceiling and beds on either side of the stairs. It was adjacent to a forest AND an ocean. It was ugly and I loved it lol Edit: the underground parts of the walls were sandstone and there were furnaces built into the wall and no other rooms or interior walls
