Better matchmaking for PvP, I'm all for. Completely, 100%. Matchmaking for Nightfalls? Yeah, sure. Matchmaking for Raids? Still a hard no. More content that can be done solo like Shattered Throne? Great. More single player content? Sure. Matchmaking for Raids? No. This needs to stop being suggested entirely. THAT does negatively impact every player. The raids either get dumbed down for matchmaking and it becomes a stepping stone before you do the real raid (WoW did this), or it's too much of a challenge that the matchmaking feature goes unused (Even Destiny's half attempt at matchmaking through the Sherpa system had that problem). Matchmaking for Raids needs to be completely removed from the conversation, especially when there's LFG systems already available. (Xbox has it built in, don't know about PS4, and PC has the internet)
