It's not about "the grind"...
There is plenty of "grind" in D2, most of which is a time spent, reward gained. Even if those rewards are lackluster.
Cores are an issue because they affect player choice, maybe not YOUR choice, but they do affect the choice for a lot of people.
And that's it. They are a pointless barrier to choice, nothing more.

You are correct. Since forsaken has come out I've spent a total of 30 minutes actively grinding for cores. And have yet to have an issue with them. I don't play 50 hours a week. I don't stream I don't do YouTube. I just play the game and manage resources. You know like how you do in every rpg/looter shooter to ever exist?
