Toland in the Ascendent Plane???
We all know from destiny 1 that toland studied hive and was the one who basically owned the Bad Juju. But why is he in the Ascendent Realm [i]inside[/i] the dreaming city?
I've never looked much into his character, so is toland an awoken? Or was he just a human just like Eris?

He’s in the Ascendant Realm. Doesn’t necessarily mean anything that it’s inside the Dreaming City. He’s just in the Ascendant Realm. And he’s there because he’s always been there going in between Throne Worlds and dimensions of Hive knowledge just gathering it for us to know and use in our fight against the Hive. How do you think we knew how to find and kill Crota? Or that Oryx was coming? Or that something more evil (Savathûn) is gonna come knocking on our door as soon as we killed Oryx? He was the one who warned us that we should’ve taken Oryx’s place before something worse takes it. And we didn’t listen..

He was human. Most def human. Awoken don’t sound like that. They have more of a trill on their voice then humans

The Ascendant Plane is the plane of existence that the Hive throne worlds are situated in. This also includes the throne world of the Mindbender and of Mara Sov. Toland had the Deathsinger sing him her song, which killed him. But presumably because he asked for it, it instead left him conscious inside the Ascendant Plane. He has since wandered it, studying the Hive. This is how he died in Crota’s, guided us through Oryx’s and now wanders Mara’s.

No he was a guardian part of Eris's fireteam . he got consumed by the Hive and the darkness
