If you buy and open a bright engram with real money you have a better chance of getting rarer/better items (exotic ships, sparrows, ghost shells, emotes, and etc) than grinding for it. So if you wonder why you keep getting shaders, blues, and other useless stuff than it’s the grinded engrams successfully giving you intentional trash. How do I know? I bought five engrams with real money by accident actually because I have a shared transaction account with my roommate and he used it to pay for silver. Anyways, almost out of all the engrams gave me the rest of my exotic emotes for season 1, and including an exotic ship.
