My advice- don’t bother grinding for vigilance catalyst, and bows are FANTASTIC for pve. At their current state (before the scout rifle buff) they are just a much more powerful and versatile version of scout rifles. Before forsaken scout rifles were a main choice for pve and they have since been replaced by bows for the spot of top tier primary long range weapon. The only thing that realistically outperforms bows are god rolled auto-rifles, pulses or hand cannons. Hopefully that will include some scouts after the buff but I like bows for the time being.
