i somehow find myself relating to garfield in terms of my low self esteem
the nihilistic approach of writing in the garfield comic strips allows me to resonate with how nothing in this world matters. the idea of consuming a high calorie food instead of that which is healthy to my body really fills me up with joy and happiness knowing that i will never get to experience such delightful taste when death shreds me to pieces and sends me to the other world, i've heard the rumors about the other world and they are not nice. i may sound hypocritical saying that nothing really matters in this world but really i don't want to leave it. it's like when somebody shoves down the new good thing down your throat after spending decades with the old good thing, you still want the old thing back regardless of how bad it is compared to the new thing because you grew attached to it and it did what you asked from it, it's in our nature as beings, creatures of habit you could say, in the same way birds always fly back to the place that they came to before or how dogs know it's that time to be fed when you call for them, garfield will always have a good meal, will always kick odie off the table and will always have a nap.
