Well i won't be getting redrix claymore anytime soon :(
Its sad that a solo player can't really progress in competitive because they can't find a good team to play with, Bungie you should look into this quickly not 5 years from now. i kid not.

2 RisposteStep 1: Perform well in any match. Step 2: Send message to anyone else in that match who did well. Step 3: Play with said person and see if you have team chemistry. Step 4: Repeat step 2 until you have a full fireteam. Step 5: Profit. Disclaimer: If you can not achieve Step 1......just play Quickplay.
