While I refuse to buy any DLC for D2 (I -will not- reward mediocrity); like many Gamers, I keep up on the news of the game, because I desperately want Destiny, as a franchise, to become the game we were all promised 4+ years ago.
But it has become obvious that Bungie simply cannot see past their own arrogance and ego to actually -listen- to their players.
This article accurately sums up the state of Destiny 2, its DLC's, and the sheer level of discontent (but discontent laden with hope) from the Gaming community at large.
While the "quality" of D2 is a matter of hot debate, what cannot be debated is that the vast majority of people who support Bungie, their games, and the Destiny franchise have left Bungie and this franchise behind, and in large part they have done so due to the "roadblock of self-imposed deafness" Bungie has laid upon themselves when they say "we're listening", but then continue to release steaming dog-turds like the D2 DLC.
