You're confusing liberalism with authoritarianism. Literal opposites.

You're uneducated. Liberalism and conservatism are defined exclusively by a belief regarding the role of government and liberalism is the side of the spectrum that believes in big government. They are absolutely and objectively the same thing. Look at almost any iteration of political belief and see liberals wanting the government to impose a particular system of belief unilaterally and without discretion on all people.
