Is Three of Coins simply a placebo? (Bungie Official Tweet)
Without Bungie providing the percentage increase of chance for an exotic to drop, how do we know if ToC does anything at all?
We can’t rely on Bungie’s veracity here either. Think, first they throttled experience gain without telling us but allowed us to buy fire team medallions that would have been pointless if you were being throttled. Then they “fixed” the issue of throttling xp gain but then DOUBLED the amount of xp needed to level up without telling a soul.
Based on that track record, what’s keeping them from releasing ToC as a placebo for us to burn through the thousands of shards we have? How does one prove that random drops have increased when said drops are RANDOM?!?
[b]UPDATE:[/b] So after reading many of your comments it seems as if ToC is in fact BUGGED and REDUCES your chance of gaining exotics when activated. My recommendation is to avoid using ToC at all costs if you value getting exotic drops.
Bungie is now on Christmas break so it’s doubtful we will hear anything on this issue nor will it be resolved any time soon.

I've done 10 hours of heroic strikes with these things and got nothing.

Only recieved two exotic England since dlc. Think the overall drop rate was dropped to minimal

People seem to have mixed results. I bought 1, it netted nothing so, I will not use them anymore. Everyone else can do what they please with them.

2 RispostePlayed a few hours yesterday and used a 3oC, heroic strikes, PE’s and crucible had 1 exotic engram drop. Today played for around the same length of time, no 3oC and no exotic engram drop. Public events just drop rare loot now? I haven’t seen any legendary or exotic drops for me or others for that matter.

Me and my buddy popped a 3oC at the same time yesterday. Did tons of public events, strikes and adventures/ patrols. He gets 1, I received nothing for 4 hours.

I'm not sure what is going on with anything here. I hear the coins do nothing but is XP still throttled or what? I run PE's, crucible and patrols for hours and my bar barely moves.

It is not working for me. I get more exotics without using it. It seems to block exotic drops.

4 RisposteFor me, if I have a 3oC and a Fireteam Medallion on at the same time, I'll get purples for days. If I have just the 3oC, I'll get an exotic almost every 45 mins to an hour. Not sure if that's intended or if the medallion buff will take precedent over gear drops but that's how it's been working for me. Also, I've gotten an exotic from Mercury patrols and from a Lost Sector. Just FYI.

I played through the straight 4hrs it’s active. And the only exotics I got came from my powerful engrams. So it seems they changed the RNG on exotics. Because it doesn’t seem to matter what I’m doing I’m getting nothing on that note. And on something RNG related I think they are also throttling the prophecy items. Been doing strikes to get the ones I need from that. And more often than not I come out of it with no more than I went in with

2 RisposteI think it's a lie to get people to chase down exotics..popped my ToC and played 3 hours of strikes, I never felt so swindled lol got one from a random PE in EDZ.. and it also was a duplicate of the Aeon gauntlet lol..
