You know what would've mad balancing crucible balancing easy without effecting pve? Have weapons obtained from pve events/vendors rollable but disable the perks in crucible and have weapons from pvp activities/vendors that have fixed and balanced perks. Bam! Everyone gets to play their game mode of choice without having it ruined by the other

  • So basically ruin the loot aspect completely to PvP players?

  • They can still acquire loot in pvp areas. What's the problem?

The problem is, that to people who mainly play PvP, any PvE activity, any gun acquired in them, has just become pointless. Why would a PvP player do the raid, if he knows that the weapon is going to be useless in his main activity? How would a PvE player ever match up to a PvP player in, say Trials, as the PvP player is going to have plenty of PvP acquired guns, whereas the PvE player would mostly have PvE guns, which you just made useless in PvP, thus giving PvP players a huge edge. And the list goes on. Edit: And let's think about how much of a shitshow ironbanner would be, as PvE players flood into PvP once a month, just to be slaughtered by PvP players.

  • Well first off, just because a gun doesn't have perks doesn't make it useless by any means. I don't know about you but non of the perks in this game really stand out to me. If you're a pvp player and want to do the raid, I'm sure you've done enough pve to have at least a couple relevant pve weapons. Likewise if you're a pve player and want to do trials I'm sure you've played evough crucible to have a decent crucible weapon. Not to mention pvp players will always have an advantage over pve player in trials no matter what guns they have

  • Dude, he's right. You're not thinking this through.

  • Perks can make or break a gun. e.g. The old fashioned Drop mag + kill mag = amazing Also I think you're not getting the point. Would you as a PvE player do ironbanner if you knew, that the weapons were useless to you? Neither would a PvP player have any incentive to do any PvE content, then. And then again, if they have an edge as it is, how does it help anyone to further enhance the PvP players edge? Just face it, my man. Separating PvE and PvP like that would, if anything make Destiny worse.

Keywords "old fashion" Those perks aren't around anymore and if this were implemented I stated balanced perks. As in they could implement a new set of perks specifically tailored for pvp balance I imagine in this system you would be given a crucible gun when you start playing crucible. And anyone who plays iron banner plays crucible enough that they would be able to build up a weapon selection for it. Nobody jumps straight into iron banner or trials without ever touching crucible. Likewise, no crucible player ever goes from not touching a pve activity straight to trying a raid. Also this way they could break up quests between the two better. Crucible players would have more quests to obtain for the crucible and pve players wouldn't ever feel forced into the crucible for a quest. People who play both would have plenty to do

You make a good point then exotics would come into questioning. How would they be balance? Would they be PvE or PvP?

  • Well as of right now it may be a little late to adopt this idea. But they could've just separated pvp and pve exclusive exotics
