I don't have the time or desire to be farming for a perfect roll. This change is something I love about this game. D1 to me felt impossible because I don't have the time to be running raids for days or farming for one great roll. The way D2 is appeals to average players like myself. It may not appeal to people who are real hardcore, but such people are, I'm sure, in the minority. All these comaints will fizzle out once more content rolls out and gives players that are real serious about it something to do.
