I hope they say, Destiny 2 is the game you will be playing for the next 8 years. Don't expect a Destiny 3, expansions will keep pushing this game forward and driving the story releasing new playable spaces. Yes that means weapons will be useless after each expansion but they could have a transmog place for armor and weapons looks if people are really that sentimental.
I hope Destiny 2 is pretty much what they did for Final Fantasy as a Realm Reborn.

What MMO have you ever played that lets you keep your armor and weapons? By allowing us to keep armor and weapons it cuts content from expansions. I can see exotics being forever but truthfully with all these expansions Destiny dropped I never really cared about the vendor weapons whatsoever so I never had to grind after TTK because I already had the archeytypes with my favorite rolls already and that cause the expansions to get stale faster. Thats why I don't think Legendaries should carry from expansion to expansion and neither should armor. Each expansion should have a new grind at the end of it.

Your opinion. Tbh even when they made new weapons and armor there was still barely any content in the dlcs. Maybe if they made actual quality content people wouldn't ask for old stuff to be brought forward. Other MMOS have quality content.
